Kente is a handwoven fabric originating in Bonwire Weaving Village in the Ashanti Kingdom in Ghana. Each pattern represents a different meaning. Kente was originally reserved for royalty, but today is worn by all who can afford the precious handwoven fabric.
This loom-woven Kente is a triple weave called Fathia Fata Nkrvmah, and was purchased directly from the artisan weavers in Bonwire Weaving Village, Ghana.
The inside neck is stamped with an Adinkra symbol meaning "in diversity we find unity."
All clothing handmade in Cleveland, OH and available for pick up at the Tidal Cool Boutique in the Tremont neighborhood in Cleveland.
